That's exactly what i was going to say.  However, at a minimum width
of 60mm, that's a good 15mm plus wider than 1u, and ive cut plenty of
19" 1u panels in 3mm without worrying about flexing (assuming, of
course, you don't then totally fill it up with holes, esp holes in
lines!)

I cut on 6000 series anodised.

You could even just cut whatever you like, but keep the design such
that you can retro-fit angle the rear of any panels that are
problematic, rather than fitting it to all panels as standard?
