[sdiy] Carbon composition... vs carbon film resistors..

I am repairing a Minelab metal detector coil and came across a 511 ohm
(damping) resistor across the RX coil of a DD coil. I measured it with my
LC102 for inductance and got 233uH. I tried one from my parts bin and got
the same. Is this real or a measurement artifact of the meter? I'm going
to test a carbon comp for comparison.

Subject: [sdiy] Carbon composition... vs carbon film resistors..
Reading the following info about resistor types :
http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/resistor/res_1.html
Can I conclude that 5% -> carbon film <- type resistors like these :
http://www.yageo.com/documents/recent/Leaded-R_CFR_2011.pdf
will show the same results as the following 5% -> carbon composition <- type
:
http://www.seielect.com/catalog/SEI-RC.pdf
in an audio circuit ?
