Yes - the ST is running the Sequencer and is generating all the sounds 
in realtime.
The ST is located on a small SMD mainbaord together with the audio codecs.
UI is handled by an AVR uC on the frontpanel. Current layout has 4 
knobs, 1 encoder, 1 2x16 lcd and 39 buttons to programm the sequencer 
(tr style) and edit sounds. MIDI is working (also USB, just need a 
VID/PID :-p ), even realtime recording to the sequencer.

since the ST is a 32bit uC most of the calculation is done in 32bit, too.
