"Guest," who designed the audio codec shield for http://openhardwarelabs.com ,
told me he had received numerous requests from people who wanted to
build the SMT board by hand, including its ~20 pin SMT codec, so he
offered a number of the boards to people in unassembled form.
I get the feeling many people are starting from SMT instead of DIP.
So, good for them. I am enjoying SMT, too, nothing smaller than 0805
please :)
But the real problem is that DIP is so easy I can watch movies, etc.
As opposed to SMT, where I spend the evening squinting into a
binocular scope and listening to the radio. That's the real trade-off
for me. I kind of prefer the through-hole for that reason.
Can you please tell us more about your analog card?
