The thing that put me off PIC was that the toolchain was Windows-only which
made it far to expensive to consider for hobbyist use - I'm not inclined to
fork out several thousand quid for a whole new computer, a whole new OS, and
all the expensive Microsoft training that you need to know how to work it.
That and it seemed like every time I looked at a 16F84 it blew up...
