My copy of Eagle did not cost any money as I use the freeware version.
Have been trying the freeware version of DipTrace now in a virtual
machine (I prefer not to fire up a physical PC just for running a single
piece of software, your mileage obviously differs from mine in this
respect). Seems nice, although the drawing quality makes my eyes hurt.
Does antialiasing in DipTrace only work when running under Direct3D?
