DipTrace looks nice (especially for a casual user like me). Too bad the
advertised Mac version of the product is really only a shoddily made
bundle of Windows sofware and the Wine emulator. Couldn't get it to run
on a current Mac OS installation. Other software vendors have better
success using Wine to "port" Windows software over to Mac OS. Will have
to try it in a virtual machine. That's what I like about Eagle: It runs
both on Mac OS and GNU/Linux which in my book is a huge plus (again, as
a casual user who prefers not to deal with Windows if at all possible).

BTW, my experiments with the current Mac OS build of KiCad we're nearly
as disappointing. Didn't feel like investing any meaningful amount of
time into learning to use the program. I guess, I'll be staying with
Eagle for the forseeable future because it runs well on Mac OS and I
really like the idea that there's a company that cares about providing
multi-platform solutions. That's something I really care about as well.
(Sometimes making decisions for all the wrong reasons does not feel so
bad at all.)
