I agree with Richard. Thinking of the capacitors, inductors, and  
resistors as masses and springs or shock absorbers should be easier  
to understand. The analogy of electrical current as water flow mostly  
works, but the spring model is even better. I just don't have the  
skills to write an example introduction.
