[sdiy] CEM3396 driver

Hi all. 

I have one of these chips and was hoping to build a eurorack module for it.  

My searches regarding this chip always turn up a micro-controller in the circuit.  Could this chip not just "track" a regular pulse VCO's output?  

Please keep any answer simple, as I have zero experience with micro-controllers. (But say more than just "no")
