Earlier, I still have these connected to my SB Live! (they are PCB mounted, 
but not fastened to the bracket).  The AWE32 (or at least some variants of 
it) had the DB15 connector that is still used for Game/Joystick/MIDI on some 
motherboards.

The other Mini-DIN connector was for the To-Host interface that Yamaha was 
peddling for a while.  I think this must have been a 6-pin (like PS/2) 
variant, since it was supposed to be directly compatible with the Mac serial 
port via standard cable and there were also cables to connect directly to a 
PC serial port (DB9).
