[sdiy] FX send /return - wet/dry control operation

Hello,

Am I right to think that the wet/dry control control on a parallel FX send/return set up (e.g. like the Aux send on a mixer) is basically just a cross-fader type arrangement that increases the level of the wet/return signal while decreasing the level of the dry/original signal (or vice versa)?

So - a pot cross-fader in the simplest form or two VCAs for a more exotic number?
