Off the top of my head...

The bottom circuit needs a resistor between the opamp and the diodes.

The bottom circuit really wants the zeners in series.

(With the fixes above) the output impedance of the bottom circuit will be changing over the course of the waveform, which might be considered antisocial behavior playing with other signals.

The clipping curves will be different.
