[sdiy] How do you find the cause of a short ?

1. ICs in backwards.
2. Power cord misassembled.
3. Short *under* the power connector.
(I use those .156 ones with the square pins. The PCB has a round hole. I
had an assembler that would sometimes push too much solder into the hole
causing a solder bridge between the connector and PCB!)
