[sdiy] 5 V rail, 3.3 V chips

A lot of logic these days needs a 3.3 V rail. How does that
work with +5 V power supplies like MOTM and eurorack ? Do you
just use a MAX1615 / LM1117MP-3.3 / LM3940 ?

LDO regulators have a finicky reputation so I would like the
assurance that extracting +3.3 V power from a +5 V rail is
within reach of someone as incompetent as myself.
