[sdiy] Tips on network theory??

The more I learn about electronics, the less I know. I am finding lately that I am starting to become less interested in schematics and more interested in going back to learning the basics.


However....I first want to know what is necessary and relevant.


For example




3 or 4 of my books seem to talk a lot about one and two port theory. But they expect you to already understand it. But i dont have any books that cover  what it is.


So i am wondering what might be a good (hopefully clear) book which would explain ports and network stuff.

Some people i have talked to mention that a lot of stuff taught before is no longer necessary because of spice.
