[sdiy] Quantizer scales

Yeah, diy is hell on weekends. 

May I suggest a rotary encoder and a display such as this:

With that many options (and the very real possibility of changes) a display seems like the way to go.

As if my list of projects weren't long enough already, now I feel
strongly compelled to build this ideal quantiser (or rather one that I
consider "ideal enough"). The user interface is certainly the tricky
part. It's tempting to use an LCD and some buttons and go the way the
menu, but I guess that take much of the fun out of using the thing.
Perhaps a rotary switch and some knobs could do the job. Will have to
make a prototype to test ideas. Oh my, there goes my weekend ...
