I decided to get ten MN3005 from ebay to see what they were actually selling.
Tested side by side in two Time Machines, one with a known real MN3005,
the ebay ICs delivered only 1 sec maximum delay (vs 2 sec) and the sound
was somewhat grittier due to half the samples. The LP filter in the TM is
set up for the 4096 samples of the MN3005.
The conclusion is that these are MN3008s (2K samples). The difference in
sound quality is not a real disaster but....
Before I send these back, does anyone want them? I paid $13 each.
John
