Prior to treatment I strip the keyboard chassis of its keys and have
removed it from the synth.
I then use thiourea (sold as Silver Dip in the UK) applied with a small
paint brush to all the contact springs and bars. Leave for five minutes
and then wash the whole chassis in a lot of water. Dry thoroughly with
several kitchen towels and then leave to dry out in the sun*.
I always do the job outside. And I wear gloves and cover up well.
One thing I have found is that all the three buss ARP keyboard I have
seen don't work properly. The clear plastic pullers seem to have changed
shape over the years and the springs can't be made to line up as they
should. This is less of a problem on the two buss systems like on the
Mini and others.
* Regular UK viewers will wonder what this is. But it's a hot thing that
came out for a couple of days in March this year.
