Seconded! Welcome to the list!

If you've got a background writing software, you might find you have a head start in the world of modern synths, analog or otherwise. There's about as much software as hardware in 'em, in my view. My own angle on this is using microprocessors for "analog" synth functions - www.electricdruid.net. In some ways, the analog side is the easier bit to learn, since there's so much material out there.

Anyway, best of luck with your projects. Don't get caught out by feature creep like the rest of us!!
