That's probably overkill and I'd rather not muck with the case's power
supply. What got me thinking about using a 7805 regulator local to the
module that needs the 5V supply is that there are some modules out there
(Flame Talking Synth, Rotatint Clock Divider, Shuffling Clock Multiplier
etc.) that have their own 7805 on board., And at least for the Talking
Synth I can say from experience that it's working well even when next to
modules that are known to be finicky with power supply noise. I guess,
I'll just go ahead and install a 7805 and two caps and be done with it.
