In places where Buchla used the LF13331 it works fine to substitute a DG201, with the exception that the power pins are different. 

The FET switch chips that can be used as voltage controlled resistors are the AM97C11 (same as AH5011), which Buchla used as a voltage controlled resistor in the 296.
