Old thread but apparently Doepfer tried to get OnChip make another run
of the 3394 for the DarkEnergy module single chip synth but was turned
down, perhaps the number of units was to low!?
Tempest uses the same stuff as the other DSI stuff uses.
I wonder if the PA chips was really an new wafer run or just taken from a
existing wafer stock? The PA397 was after all used in the Marion Systems
synths which pre-dates DSI by years.
