The important part is to not move the joint as it cools down, as that
would make the joint mechanically fragile. The idea is to heat the
work, apply exactly the right amount of solder, melt the solder for
just the right amount of time to allow it to form a bond, and then
letting the joint cool down while holding it still so it can form a
rigid crystal structure. Moving the solder wire the solder melts is
not a problem, assuming the solder has time to melt properly before it
starts to cool.
