[sdiy] Fun with SDIY and 3rd Graders

today I went to my sons 3rd grade classroom and gave a talk on electronics/electricity.

I brought in some SNAZZY FX stuff (tracer city and Dreamboat)

played with a 40106 chip, a transistor, a pot, a resistor, an LDR, a cap, etc

played some DUB through the tracer city

passed out 9v batteries, alligator clips, RGB leds, and 1k resistors to all the kids so they could try and make a circuit


it was really neat to hear ALL the questions

all the excitement

they all wanted to know more!

I passed out schematics, parts, etc. they seemed to really love it


and you know what?

I dont think many of them had ever done anything hands on with electronics before


it was great


I hope one or two of those kids gets interested in electronics
