Interesting.  Well, I have had zero issues with the Olimex PIC-MCP-USB but
it probably doesn't handle something newer these days.  I mostly use Atmel
so it'd been "good enough" for me.  The huge cost of the picstart+ is
one of the reasons why I did mostly go Atmel...
