Right. If you want to avoid beats between oscillators you need about 0.1% 
accuracy at 1 kHz and 0.01% at 10 kHz. So I don't see anything wrong with 
trying for very high accuracy.

Also you may want good tracking at sub-audio, for example if you are using 
a VC tempo.  (As Thomas Henry has pointed out in discussing his own designs.)

This has nothing to do with anyone's dog. The human audio range is up to 10 
octaves.  Plus a few more at sub audio leaves you with what?
