If you want to build more useful (IMHO) 1V/Octave VCO with the 2206,
check out Thomas Henry's version:
http://www.birthofasynth.com/Thomas_Henry/Pages/XR-VCO.html

This is a neat little VCO capable of 4 or 5 octaves of tracking, and a
nifty waveform "skew" feature. If you don't feel like etching your own
board, I sell a PCB for the XR VCO for $20 with a few enhancements
(additional waveforms, suboctaves) through Magic Smoke Electronics.
Drop me a line at magsmoke at gmail.com if you're interested.
