More DSPs?! ;)
Farnell list 156 fixed point DSPs, starting with a dsPIC for £1.83, and going up through 16, 24, 32 and 64-bit devices to an Analog Devices Blackfin for £37. And that's not to mention all the things that come under the heading "digital signal controllers" or any of the floating-point DSPs - though they're probably more money.
There aren't *that* many at the Wavefront's £5/unit price point, it's true, and perhaps they don't have the log/antilog function, but I don't think we're starved of options. The dsPICs are only 16-bit, but there are few devices by ST Micro and Texas.
