[sdiy] Raspberry pi(e)

Hi,
one of my neighbours asked if I was going to get a Raspberry Pie and I 
said " which supermarket has them on special offer ? ".
However after having it explained to me it seems it is a single board 
computer.

when you go to the Farnell website they have put a popup asking if you 
want to express an interest in one.
I haven't seen it mentioned on the sdiy list. Would it have any possible 
Sdiy applications ?
