[sdiy] midi clock to GATE (or trigger) converter with Arduino???

I use my CVS for this which uses a Basic Stamp. I have all the MIDI code
written, you just need to add the code for what you want to do with the
clock. For MIDI, you basically just need the opto coupler and the Basic
Stamp. I know it's not an Arduino, but it is pretty inexpensive. Details
are on my CVS page
http://modularsynthesis.com/cvs/cvs.htm
and my programs page
http://modularsynthesis.com/programs/programs.htm

There is no programming environment needed as the development environment is
free and it interfaces with RS-232.

Subject: [sdiy] midi clock to GATE (or trigger) converter with Arduino???

Is this possible? i have a MIDI shield laying around the house called a
MIDI/VOX and that will take care of my optocoupler and MIDI In

it even has an audio out 1/8in jack (though i never used it for anything)

anyway

so what I am wondering is how hard it would be to find and or write a sketch
to take MIDI clock from a sequencer like Logic and convert it into gates
that would clock my MFB sequencer or any other clock able module

thanks for any input or ideas on sketches

thanks
