Yes! I have found my fine, curved-point, tweezers to be the only really
"special" tool that I've required.
I'm lucky that, even at rising 45, I can still operate without
magnification, which I only use for post-soldering inspection. Up to
now, I have used one of those magnifiers on a boom with a little
fluorescent light on either side. (Mostly just use it for the lights.)
Following a recent-ish thread, however, I have now acquired a Leica GZ6
binocular microscope from eBay - ring light should be rocking up Monday.
As I'm using more 0.5mm pitch parts, with 100+ pins, I thought it was
probably time I started working with magnification all the way through.
Especially since my good eyesight won't last forever. (According to the
depressingly young optometrist I saw last time.)
Be cool if I could find a tool to stop shaky hands ;-)
