I'd bet that the analog synth market is nothing to the chip makers. Looking
at most commercial products today they're digital. That's why most of the
stuff we like is going away.

Intellijel is buying the SMT version by the thousands. If they ever
announced a last-time buy, we'd probably buy 100,000 of them. Although, I
don't know why they would stop making them, as they only seem to be getting
more and more popular, at least in synth module designs.
