[sdiy] My (polyphonic) problem child

Hi all,

Last year I set myself to build a polyphonic hybrid synth under "DIY
friendly" constraints: only through-hole parts, 8-bit AVRs (=
through-hole + open source toolchain), no exotic parts, and easy to
reproduce for other people. It was a long battle, foolish from its
premises ; that is now fortunately over! On the way it branched into 3
different variants of the voicecard and got many new features... The
result is on par with hybrid polys like the Microwave 1 or the ESQ-1,
with the added unusual digital oscillator algorithms (CZ-like direct
synthesis of filtered waveforms, VOSIM-like vowel synthesis,
band-limited saw/square) and more flexibility in the voice allocation
and routing!

Some sounds:

You can know more about the beast here:

Documentation (in progress):

Source code and Eagle files are available here:

I'll bring one at SDIY UK - and Mutable Instruments will sell soon
PCBs and kits (probably without passives).

Thanks to the few members of this list (esp. Neil Johnson) who helped
me with some PCB routing problems in january!

Olivier
