I have quite a few of these little drawer thingies, but I don't use them. I
don't like stuff cluttering up my work surface. I find that the most
convenient thing for me is to keep resistors of different values in the
original ziploc bags they come in at Lee's Electronics (Main St.,
Vancouver). These bags are about 2.5" square. These I keep filed in order
in a metal Reisen (chocolate-coated caramel candy) box with the hinged lid;
5% resistors on the left and 1% on the right. For ceramic capacitors, again
I keep them in individual ziploc bags in little plastic pasta sauce tubs.
Ditto for trimmers. I keep all electrolytic capacitors in a
multicompartment plastic box with a hinged snap-down lid. I bought a bunch
of these at Michael's Art Supply for about $3 each. They are actually for
notions (buttons and stuff). I use another for chips, and another for
sockets and switches. All this sits in a single large drawer under my
workbench, which is actually an old school desk. Very common chips (2164s,
TL07x) I keep in their plastic tubes in another drawer, along with panel
components in large ziploc bags and various plastic tubs.

This works really well for me. I really hate all those little drawers.
