In general no, but some few manufacturers design their components to match
heights, ALPS 9-10mm series of switches and RK09 pots for one instance.
But what i find annoying is that there is no standard long legged P160 pot that
one could use for either vertical or horizontal mount by simply bend the legs.
Cwejman uses washers on pots to match pot height to the 3,5mm sockets.
Doepfer does this to but here to distance pots from front panel.
One issue when mounting LEDs is they move about when soldered cheap toy
plastic/glass beads on a LED leg fix this. A bag of 3500units for 2,5 euro in
closest toy shop and are available in various lengths and materials..
