[sdiy] Korg Wavedrum hacking?

Hi all,

recently I got a Korg WD-X Wavedrum. I think it wouldn't be too difficult to generate MIDI from the signals from its various microphones and its pressure sensor (it has no MIDI at all). Has anyone tried this already? Or any other hacks?

I do understand that the Wavedrum is a physical modeling synthesizer using the signals from the microphones as excitation, so MIDI is pointless here. But it would be a nice additional feature nevertheless.
