You can download a zip file of all the contents in the selected
repository (button in the section just below the repositorie's short
description) or you can browse the files and view them using the "Raw"
button on the top right of the "file view form" (dunno how to call that
part). Or you could clone the repo using the URL supplied right to where
the ZIP button is located. Basically, github is a service not unlike
Sourceforge or Savannah: You get some space to create a git repository
(version control system, think SVN, CVS, RCS, but far more advanced) and
there's a Web interface that you can use to manage things and browse
repositories. It's quite marvellous although I have to admit that from
time to time I find the interface slightly confusing.

PS: If there are just .gitignore files in some of the folders that's
    just the way it is. For simplicity's sake consider them to be
    place holders you can safely ignore.
