[sdiy] MIDI to CV interface standards..or not..?

Hi list,

I built the following MIDItoCV interface some months ago:
http://www.arcenson.com/projects/modular/M100%20MIDI%20Interface/Specifications/M100%20MIDI%20Interface%20specs.pdf

I'm now tweaking a new VCO that will be driven by this MIDI interface.
I have to decide the 'resting ' frequency when nothing
is connected to it and the settings are FREQ at '0' and RANGE at 8'
My VCO is a Moog 921B clone.. see the front panel:
http://moogarchives.com/m921b.htm

I'm now wondering if there is a 'standard' to follow regarding the relationship
between a received MIDI note value and the resulting CV output
the MIDI interface should respect and generates (I'm in the 1V/oct league here..)
(On my MIDI 61 keys keyboard the first left C note produces a C3 MIDI note)
When my MIDI interface receives this MIDI C3 note it produces 3.00vdc,
at C4 it produces 4.00vdc, and so on..
Am I in the good direction here?
As a comparison I checked a Moog 951 keyboard
and it generates 0.00vdc for the first left C.

Your help is SOOOOO welcomed !
JP
