I tried searching this on Muffwigglers but got 3447 threads and gave up looking...
I'd like to discuss DIY Eurorack panels. In the past - like 1980's - I bought a sheet of aluminum and asked a metalworker to cut blank panels for me. I then drilled out holes where I wanted them with my drill press, and labeled things with my Dymo plastic labeler. So after seeing the success and advantages of the eurorack format I am thinking of gutting my original synth and converting all modules and the case to eurorack format. I also want to then experiment with new modules and need blank panels to do so. So.... what is recommended for cheap SOB's like me?:
Sheet/surplus aluminum specifications
Cutting advice - does a HarborFreight shear work or just send it out to someone?
Sources for precut blank panels I can drill as desired?
Temporary labeling - do the new label printer labels stick well to the aluminum? Are there differences between brands or tips you have?

BTW, 2012 doesn't come up on the synthDIY archive search engine
