Changing the caps can alter the freq response, which of course can be good or bad depending on your ear and choice of op amps I suppose. It's always an interesting game of limiting bandwidth somewhere in the circuit and letting it breathe elsewhere.
The OBD-3 kinda looks like a Boss Hyperfuzz, with the differential FET pairs in there, good stuff. Mine got stolen a few years back unfortunately :/
I otherwise have far too many fuzzes, distortions, etc., so maybe a good move would be to just have an external FX send for max flexibility. Again, I like the idea of arbitrary placement in the signal chain - something like pre-VCA keeps it quiet between notes, or post lets it brzaaaaah on and on in fuzzy glory.
