I know why people keep doing it. Because every drawing package includes a tool for doing ellipses, and none that I've ever seen include a tool for doing sine curves.

Anyway, why does the google waveform have to be a sinewave? Can't it honour Hertz with plenty of odd harmonics thrown in?
