Hi All.

Many thanks for the advice from everyone. I *was* thinking of a 
polyphonic modular, so 8 simultaneous connections in the one 
plug/socket would be optimum. As Harry said, nothing new under the sun 
I guess...... was it really that obvious?  ;-)
Andre - will try the test rig for 8-way DINs. As I'm toying with the 
idea of memories, going down the logic switching route would make sense 
in the long run, but the idea of an old-style open-architecture modular 
is certainly appealing, and possibly much simpler to implement -  more 
wiring, but less electronics.
