[sdiy] Simple fix or filthy kludge?

I'm trying to diagnose/troubleshoot a problem I'm having with one bit of a circuit that has become very susceptible to external loads (at least I think that's what it is...).
Plugging stuff into inputs, attaching test probes - it's not very happy and it's causing one particular integrator to swing down to the negative rail. Odd - not seen behaviour like this before.
I noticed this seems to solve it completely: http://www.sdiy.org/juz/input_ground_01.pdf
All I've done is add a 1K resistor between the Ground input of my input jacks and Ground. Never had to do this before because I've never had a problem like this before.
Elegant (temporary?) solution or dirty kludge that'll potentially cause more problems?
Thanks.
