One other point is that you don't want to have too much light. I used to
repair cable TV amplifiers and at some point a consultant told them they
needed more light in the shop so they put 4 x 48" florescent tubes over
every workstation. It was way too bright and everyone hated it.

I think they were told that all this extra light would improve
productivity. It didn't. Of course, if you have a circadian rhythm problem
this might fix it...
