I have two Waldmann units. One is a task light (SNE-136), the other is a magnifier (Omnivue). The perfect light temp of 5400K, no problems reading resistor color codes. The downside? They're bloody expensive! But they come up on ebay sometimes which is how I afforded mine.

I first noticed this while using the magnifying (fluorescent) lamp I bought for SMT work - which has a nice, clear white light and then recently while shooting some video using a proper photo lamp - which was much brighter and more importantly - much whiter.
