[sdiy] (OT) theory of programming/philosophy of programming books?

Most of the books I like are probably too old to be directly useful for
modern microcontrollers, but I would look for books that cover queues,
interrupts, maybe simple RTOS basics (only because interrupts and breaking
programs up into "tasks" is well covered then).
