[sdiy] SMD capacitors : choosing dielectric type

Hi everybody,

I am planning to order a bulk of SMD capacitors from Farnell for my synth
project but I have a question related to dielectric qualities.

For bypassing caps, I am going to take X7R ceramic capacitors but for
coupling audio signal and for filters I am thinking of buying polycarbonate
caps but they are costly in SMD package. In through hole versions, I use
MKP or MKT film capacitors which I find very good and not very expensive.

What would be a good choice for replacing these MKP/T caps in a SMD design
according to your experience ?

Thank you by advance,
Frédéric
