I can't see how that would happen, because there's nothing there that 
can write to the EPROM.  What might have happened is that the RAM has 
got sufficiently corrupted that although the OS detects enough "sense" 
to think the RAM is initialised, it actually contains rubbish that 
causes odd behaviour.  Ensoniq ESQ-1s and SQ-80s are bad for that.
