[sdiy] Tips on working with vactrols?

I am thinking of using an vactrol for a project where id be replacing a 100k resistor in the loop of an inverting opamp with one vactrol and replacing a 10k pot going from the out of one opamp into the inverting input of another with a second vactrol.

Before I start, I am wondering if anyone has figured out the best control circuitry for driving vactrols

Inside the loop of an opamp (ala low pass gate) is how ive done it before but its not very low parts count( opamp, trimmer, zener, etc)


any leads on the finer points of using them is much appreciated
