[sdiy] Daft modulation scheme?

I was more taken with your request for analogies, but looking at the actual question again, it's not totally daft. If the oscillator uses some *other* reference to determine its frequency (like a ramp reset point, for example) you might get an LFO modulation of pitch. If the waveform is forced close to the rails, you'll also get a LFO modulation of timbre as the waveform starts to clip or distort. Good enough for noise electronics.
